~Sarah's Sentiments...with "guest writer"...Mommy~

Vacation Bible School! We had Vacation Bible School (VBS) this week in our home. Yes, you read that right, IN OUR HOME! Now most of you may have already had VBS in your church, or you will have it soon, but we got to be a part of the VBS from Hobe Sound, FL. They live-streamed their VBS (with the Bakers as their workers,) so people like us that live far, far away got to "attend" their VBS! It was so nice, for you see my sister Kimberly, and my brother, Noah, and I didn't even know what a VBS was. We left on missionary deputation when I was 3, and then the last 2 summers we have been out of the USA, so we could not attend any VBS's. My brother (3) even called it "GBS" instead of "VBS". My Mommy said that Hobe Sounders would DIE if they knew that their VBS had been called by that name. HA! =D My Mommy would have us memorize the verse each night of VBS, then once we could say it by memory to her, we got to get in our goodie box, that's filled with all kinds of fun little things, and get a prize. Some nights we had a little trouble with the VBS coming through OK, so we'd bow our heads and pray, and God would fix it for us, and we got to finish listening to it! Isn't our God a Great, and Caring God? We would like to thank God and Hobe Sound for making this VBS available for we missionary kids way over here in Colombia, S. America. We loved the continued story "Rod and REEL Trouble", the songs, the Bible stories, the competition between the girls and boys,...WE LOVED IT ALL, and we felt like we were there (well almost!!! =)~Us listening (and watching) very intently to the VBS!~

Sarah, I loved hearing about your "GBS". (Ha!-as Noah called it.) I am glad you told us about it and about how you watched and took part in it. Love, Grandma D.

It is great that you were all able to 'attend' Hobe Sound's VBS! Our church in Decatur,In tried to have our VBS using HSBC's live-streaming program. Sadly, we were not able to get it to work! We were using a wireless connection in a basement so that may have had something to do with it? We planned to have it all week long and had over 20 kids there for the first 2 nights. We quickly decided to postpone our VBS to another time when we could go into the Archives and watch it. The computer tech's at our church think that there were so many people trying to watch it that it slowed it down and eventually quit working for us. Despite it not working, the kids had a lot of fun and enjoyed themselves thanks to my quick-thinking mother! She kept them entertained with songs, games and even a nature walk! Glad you
all got to enjoy it!

Heather,
That touches my heart to see your children enjoying VBS. Isn't God good? That is something I would have done for Christa in the same situation and would have been so happy about it.
Love, Aunt Linda

Thanks Sarah for sharing with us all about your week. we are excited that you got to attend! Love you lots, Aunt Laura You should write Hobe Sound and let them know you were able to get it. That is so neat that you could have VBS. I know that was special to you. We used to get a radio station in Guratemala City that aired Uncle Charlie and Aunt Bea, out of Grand Rapids, MI. That was really special to us.

I have enjoyed catching up on your and your children's last few blog entries. I will have to go to the Hobe Sound VBS (or "GBS"--gasp!ha ha) and let me kids see it sometime.
Love the "Walmart" pictures! If something like that drove through our town, heads would definitely turn! Hmmm... if I am ever starving for attention, I know what to do. ;-)
I am sorry you have had back pain! I understand! I will pray for you!
