~Sewing.....Oh, What Fun!~

We've been sewing this week! =) We decided to make some jean skirts and decorate them. We had a lot of fun figuring out what we wanted to put on our skirts.~
~A picture taken at 11:00 at night...after we finished making the girls skirts....all in one evening.~

~A close-up of Sarah's skirt...I forgot to get a close-up of Kimberly's.~

~Kimberly, Mommy, and Sarah in our skirts that Jesus helped us to make and decorate. I made a scarf to wear in my hair, to match the material on the bottom of my skirt. Kimberly BRAIDED her own hair (in 37 braids) and it took her from 12:00 to 7:00!! Our Nicaraguan maid in Costa Rica used to love to do my girls hair this way, so that's where she got the idea!~

Adorable!

My Lauren really wants to learn how to sew...has done several little things on her own with her sewing machine. How I wish I would've learned so I could pass on this wonderful skill. Your girls are fortunate to have YOU!

Really cute..and do I see multiple braids in Kimberly's hair? Do you remember your Mom trying to teach me to sew? It didn't take (not her fault!), but that was a fun day!:)

Thank you ladies for all of your sweet comments! The Lord helped us! Those skirts are EASY to make. We just cut the skirt to the right size (cutting them bigger at the waist to allow room for the seam and elastic,) sewed up the side seams, used the salvage of the material for the hem, put in an elastic waist, and then "Scrapbooked" our skirts with whatever we wanted to put on it...buttons, ribbons, patches of material, etc. =D

Love, Heather =)

Heather, Those skirts are awesome. I also see that they match you beautiful shoes that you got. Kimberly, That is way more time than I could ever put into my hair. I think I would have given up. You did a great job. Polite persistence is the key. I love the close up of Sarah's skirt. I will show them to DeAnna when she gets back from Athens she will love them also. She loves to sew and make stuff with her Granny Lue. We love you guys!

I made your Bananna Bread today. I did not like my recipe very well so had just thought about looking for a new one when I found yours!! We enjoyed it very much. Thanks for the great recipe.

Those skirts are very cute. They show your creativity! I remember your creativity from when you and your sister used to babysit me and my siblings in Weisbach days. I enjoy your blog and pray for you often.
