~What Melanie and our family have been doing...part 1~

Melanie is to travel all night and to arrive in the morning to Bolivia to meet up with her Dad, Mom, and 2 sisters.  Please pray for her as she travels all night tonight!
Thank you for your prayers for our Colombian visas...we are to go back to the visa office on Monday.  Please keep praying!!  Thank you!

~Melanie's first Tuesday here we had a "ladies' night out" and met up with my dear Colombian friend Marisol.  We had a blast being together and enjoyed our time and the treats from "Juan Valdez" coffee shop!  (Juan Valdez is the most known coffee brand here in Colombia!  It's like our Starbucks!)  But, it wasn't just for fun...I want to touch Marisol's life for Christ.  I have no clue what kind of church she attends, but I know that she is a lonely lady who's husband needs the LORD!  She's been married nearly as long as we have but they have no children.  She LOVES my children to pieces.  We have a wonderful time when we are together... talking about God, praying together, etc. Anyways, she loved meeting Melanie and we all had a great visit!~
~Sarah and Mary.~
~Having family devotions.  In our family devotions we try to read Scripture, and then memorize Scripture, pray, sing some hymns (and fun kid songs for Sarah, Noah and Elijah), and then if there is time Phillip reads us an inspiring story from the life of an early Christian.  We try to sing some hymns in English so that our kids will remember the words in English too.  Elijah had just received this guitar, so he was "accompanying" us while we sang Amazing Grace! =) ~
~Phillip introducing Melanie as she was going to give a devotional to our church on Thursday night.  The Lord really helped her and she gave a very encouraging devotional about how God uses trials to draw us closer to Him.~

~Phillip took this picture from the back of the church while Melanie was speaking.  Bro. Edgar uses the video beam to put the Scripture up on the wall for those new comers who may not have a Bible.~
~Phillip and our kids had to go to our dentist to get their teeth fixed before we go to Argentina in August, Lord willing.  So, here Melanie and Sarah, Elijah, Noah, Mary and I are in a nearby shop that sells Choc. Covered Strawberries...waiting on Phillip and Kimberly to get their teeth fixed.  (We had planned to wait at a park, but it was pouring the rain outside.)~
~Elijah getting his teeth looked at.~
~One Friday we had to do some shopping and wanted to take Melanie out for a typical Colombian meal.  But...we didn't realize that our normally CHEAP restaurant...turns expensive on the weekends!  So we went to the mall for we knew that there were 2 restaurants there that have GREAT PRICES! (Melanie took our picture w/ our camera, then Phillip took her pic with us w/ her camera, so that's why she's not in this pic.)~
~"Big Brother Elijah" feeding baby Mary some bites! =)~

This was such an interesting post! And all the pictures were delightful to look at; but the picture that took the cake was the one of Elijah feeding Mary. Smile. They look like 'identical' twins, only Elijah looks like a boy and Mary looks like a girl. I mean I LOVE that picture!
I think I may have to go take a nap. Every time I read your blog, I get worn out! Your family reminds me of the poem,
"How doth the little busy bee
Improve each shining hour,
And gather honey all the day
From every opening flower!"
Now this industrious attitude is what I admire!
Love, Mom D
