~Here's a song I wrote for Mother's Day. It's just a humorous twist on how many of our days go as Mothers. :-) We recorded this in the church and it's on a busy street, so pardon the passing trucks. Enjoy!~

Could you imagine having the privilege of growing up in a home where Martha Stewart and Emily Post live? Well, I did! =) My Moma "helped Emily write the book of etiquette," and would give Martha Stewart a run for her Money! HA! Anything that My Moma touches turns to pure Gold! =) She has a way of taking the most simple thing and making it beautiful. (Like she wraps gifts in brown paper bags, ties them with binders twine, adds some fresh greenery and a white candy cane, and it is as pretty as a picture. =) Yet...this same Moma spent LOTS of hours teaching Laura and I how to cook, bake, sew, etc. She allowed us to experiment and let us make messes in her kitchen baking lots of things. Yes, my Sweet Moma has taught me a lot of things! But, the most important lessons my Moma has ever taught me was how to pray to God and believe He cared for the little things. She shared with me answers to prayer from her life, and I saw her faithfully coming out of her bedroom after having her quiet time with God! Moma has an amazing story. When she was a teenager attending a public school in Tenn. and hardly knew anything about God, she tried out to be a cheer leader. Then she heard about a Bible College in Cinci, OH called "God's Bible School" where her friend was thinking of going. Moma told her friend that if she DID NOT MAKE THE CHEER LEADING TEAM...she would go to God's Bible School! When the cheer leading list came out her name was NOT ON THE LIST, and she started making plans to go to Cinci! (Later she found out that she DID make the team...but right before they posted the list...they decided to cut the team from 8 members to 6 and CUT HER NAME OFF THE LIST!) Coincidence? Chance? HARDLY!!! It was God! She went to GBS for her last 3 years of high school, met and married my Daddy...at the age of 18! and thus she RE-WROTE what could have been my life's story! Thank you, Moma, for serving Jesus, being a walking cookbook, and decorating magazine, for loving me, my man, and our 5 (along with all the rest of our family), and for loving Daddy for soon to be 50 YEARS! Thank you for being willing to "watch your Grandchildren grow up...ONLY THROUGH MY BLOG"...so that we can share Jesus in South America!
I love you! Have a wonderful Mother's day...wish I could be with you!

Oh Heather, I had to laugh out loud. I can soooo identify with your day(s). Some days I really think all I do is chase my tail and wonder if I did anything of real value. You always seem to have it to together to me. Thanks for encouraging me today. I appreciate you so much!! Happy belated Mom's Day to you! ~Carla~
