~My Chalkboard's new saying...~

~"My Kitchen is the heart of our home!" ~
My family knows that when I go into the kitchen it's meal time and goodie time too.  =)  When Mommy is in the kitchen...life is exciting!  A lot of time I have so many kids in the kitchen with me that I can hardly move.  I love it! =)
Making memories...one meal/goodie at a time! ;-)~
As you know I L.O.V.E. to Bake   I mean I LOVE baking so much...that when I have one new recipe in the oven, I'm already thinking of the next new recipe that I want to try! =)  I have always loved baking...started making homemade bread when I was 11, and had my own bread business when I was 13-14.  However, when I am on the mission field I REALLY love to bake.  You see, when I see all of these fun projects and craft ideas on Pinterest and blogs...I know I can't do most of them.
#1 I don't have a Goodwill where I can find things for cheap to re-do.
#2  I don't live in my own home to repaint, fix up, etc.
So, the way I "help my heart" is finding new fun recipes and baking away!  =) My family is VERY HAPPY with this arrangement!! =)  Phillip says that we make a great couple.  He loves to eat, and I love to cook!
(And my treats help us not to miss our USA, family and friends quite SO MUCH!)
Phillip and I were talking the other day that life is so BUSY in the USA that most people don't email.  As you can expect missionaries get LONELY and need/want to hear from home, but we know that everyone is too busy there for us to email them.  That's when I realized that that is why I LOVE my blog so MUCH and love to update it!  It's like I got to email all of y'all and when you visit my blog and especially to those who leave a comment, it's like you've "emailed me back" and that makes my heart SO HAPPY!!!  =)    THANK YOU!!!

Awwww ... I don't know you all really, but I feel you are my friend, since I check your blog almost daily!! I LOVE to read it and check up on the exciting things that are happening in you and your family's life. You are an inspiration to me. Although I don't leave comments often, believe me, I'm reading your blog posts. I look forward to them! By the way, I recently discovered that my brother and your hubby were good friends at one time. I never realized this (or have forgotten); maybe you know. Anyway, keep encouraged and shining for Jesus!! You are making a difference! :o)

I've always hesitated to comment, for fear I'm being a bother. We LOVE reading your blog posts! Our kids have enjoyed getting to know your family through your blog. We pray for you often and appreciate your influence. As a careful mommy, I never feel the need to "preview" your posts before I can allow my children to read them. Thank you for being trustworthy! :-)

i would love to eat some of your baking:):)
i loved hearing about the Bdays and that y'all were able to have the fun outing to Starbucks:) i will try to not take my Starbucks for granted anymore ;) (actually, i already do not take it for granted because it took Forever for us to get one in this town!)
it's difficult to believe that Kimberly is so "old"!! i know she is a big help to you...have y'all found a violin teacher for the girls, or is that just a little on hold for awhile?
prayers and love to all from the MUCH older Kimberly :)

Heather, I really enjoy reading your blog! It is such a great way to stay in contact! Right now, with my work and school I don't have as much time to update my blog as I would like to buy I am hoping to do it more frequently before long! I think of your family often and when I read your blog I do my best to stop and pray for you all!

I so enjoy reading you blog! I haven't been on very regular in the last 3 weeks due to my father passing away almost 3 weeks ago, but when I'm home I enjoy logging on and reading!

Heather, I am SOOO glad you like to blog, because I LOVE reading your updates!!! And I love keeping up with how your kids are growing and how God is using your family. You are an encouragement to me for sure.

As for the baking, I don't know, I'd probably enjoy doing more, but since I am not blessed with your thin figure, my best way to avoid temptation is just not to bake much :D Love your chalkboard!!

Blessings, Carla

I love hearing from you thru your blog :) And I love the amazing ways you make things beautiful for your family... I know they must feel your love very, very much.

I also love to share your blog with my kids...

BTW...can you skype? If you don't mind to email me in answer to this question, that would be wonderful...

Dearest Heather,
I love the saying! And it does express your home well! I also love making bread, but I'm here in the US and like you said "we are busy". I really don't know why, with all our time saving devises, you would think we would have more time! There's a book call "Little House On The Free-way" that I would love to read. Maybe we have deceived our selves into thinking we have more time than we really do! Well, this weekend we are going to have our Mitchem Family Christmas, so hopefully we will all slow down a bit! Love and Prayers, Hannah Klunder

I enjoyed your post and the little cups on your chalk board were so cute. Sorry I can just now take a minute to send a note. I need to copy your scone recipe for later but now I must hurry to the kitchen and mix up some roll dough for rolls and a coffe cake for a Sunday morning breakfast. I made one with orange marmalade last week for Uncle Dan and Aunt Carole but think I will use red rashberry for this one. I have been having the taste for a Boston Cream Pie (which I think is more like a cake than a pie) so as I have some hot fudge sauce made for the topping I hope to yet make one for desert tomorrow. I enjoyed reading the recipe that Deanna she shared from her days in the Bahamas. The method of measuring put me right there with those poeple! Keep on in your favoite room, making your family smile and the rest of us as well. I love you, Moma
