~Pardon me as I cry on your shoulder....~

We just found out today...that we have a contract on the house we are in until Aug. 31st and if we leave early we still have to pay until then. We knew that we had made a contract for our first year, but didn't realize that each year our contract just renewed on it's own for ANOTHER YEAR. We thought that we were just on a month by month contract. We also thought that since the owner is asking us to leave (so that she can live here) that we could leave whenever we found another house. WRONG!
So....here I sit in a house that looks like a disaster! It is filled with empty walls, shelves, etc. and suitcases and boxes sitting around already packed...and now we have to stay here in this mess for nearly 3 more months, for we cannot afford to rent 2 houses at the same time for the next 3 months. We have "let go" any of the houses that we had hope to rent and will stay here until nearer time to leave and then we will start house searching again. (Now we know that we do NOT want to rent through a company because of the hassle we had with this one, but that it would be better to rent through the home owner themselves.)
It does seem that satan is trying to do all possible to discourage our family and to try to get us to leave Colombia. But...we know that God has brought us here and HE WILL HELP US!!! Please continue to pray that we can get our Colombian visas which we are to renew next week and that God will guide us to the RIGHT HOUSE to rent when it's time for us to move from this house.
And I would appreciate prayers for our hearts, we are a tad sad. Thanks for your being there for us!! Now...I will "dry my tears" and go make a fun snack to help lift the hearts of my family! =)

I am praying for you. I have heard all my life that missionaries have to be "flexible." I guess this is one of those situations, but I know that doesn't make it any easier. I am praying that God will guide you into a perfect home for your family, and that He will give you patience and strength during the next couple of months while you wait. He is able!

I am so sorry! I feel sad for you! You get your hopes all up for something only to have it taken away. Possibly there is a better house in the future for your family and God knows. I know, it is still hard to live amongst boxes...with 2 smaller children. I will keep you in my prayers.

Wow, it sounds like you are getting hit with a double whammy. We are so sorry to hear of your renting problems, and we are learning to understand the pain of visa work. We will be praying for you.

So sorry! I like to have everything lined up so I know how frustrating this must be for you! We lived in a tiny bush house with just the very basics for 2-3 years while several other option fell through but we now have good memories mainly because of my parents upbeat attitude about it all. As a parent now, I look back in amazement sometimes....

I pray that God will help you and encourage you. HE has a new house for you out there somewhere and I pray that when the time is right HE will just put it in your lap! We will be praying for you!

Wow, three more months? Why don't you go ahead and re-hang some of those pretties on the walls so you feel at home? Poor dear.

Oh, Heather, I am so sorry. That must be so frustrating and depressing. I still don't have some things put away from my last move, and it has been a couple of months... nor do I feel much like doing it (been a blue week for me), I can't imagine living with everything boxed up for that long. I know you don't know me well, but I have this urge to give you a hug, and cry with you. I will pray that God will direct you all to where He wants you. Maybe there will be a better home awaiting when the time comes for you to go. I know God worked out our home situation. It was hard to leave our home we were renting (landlord wanted to sale it... and, it was more than we wanted to pay for it) with the big yard to live in a trailor court, but I see how God has worked things out... It's very affordable and very nice... It was definitely a God-thing! He trust he will take care of you too!
