~Singing for a revival~

We were asked to go and sing for a revival of another church Saturday night. They had casually mentioned about us possibly leading the singing too, so we came prepared in case they REALLY DID want us to lead the singing...AND THEY DID!
So, we passed out the Spanish hymn books that we brought with us, and set up our small keyboard and stand that we hauled along too, and God helped us to have a good time of singing and teaching that church some new hymns.

~They requested that we teach them some songs out of our book of Spanish kids songs that we put together~

Then we sang 3 specials as a family. That was fun, because since our churches are so new, and we sing congregational singing for about AN HOUR EACH SERVICE, (and they want to keep going) we don't do a lot of special singing yet. (Mainly, because our family does the bulk of the singing, since a lot of our people can't carry a tune, so after an hour, our voices are NEARLY SHOT!) When we do sing a family special...if it's out of our Spanish hymn book, all of the congregation starts asking, "WHAT NUMBER?" ..."WHAT NUMBER?" and then when they find the number THEY SING ALONG WITH US...NOT EVEN KNOWING THE TUNE! HELP! So, needless to say, it was fun singing together as a family for Jesus...without other people trying to join in. God helped us, and the service went well!
~Our family singing...notice TALL Kimberly & shorter Sarah trying to share a mic!~

PLEASE KEEP PRAYING FOR BABY MICHAEL DAVID...AND HIS PARENTS! PHILLIP SPENT MOST OF THE DAY SATURDAY WITH THEM, AND GOD IS HELPING THE BABY, AND IS TALKING TO THE PARENTS. THEY, ESPECIALLY THE DADDY, ARE WANTING TO SERVE JESUS. THE DOCTORS SAID THAT MICHAEL DAVID WAS ACTUALLY DEAD FOR 20 MINUTES...AND HE HAS A LOT OF PROBLEMS. BUT GOD IS STILL ABLE TO HEAL HIM COMPLETELY, AND SAVE HIS PARENTS!!

Hi Heather!

I have not checked in with your blog for a few days and I realy enjoyed 'catching up' on your lives the past few weeks! I pray for you and your family when God brings you to mind and ask Him to protect you and your sweet family. I can relate with you on your love for baking! It is one of my favorite pastimes! I plan on trying the Cappaccino muffins! Keep baking and shining for Jesus!

How neat to see you using your family to minister to others! We have done that a few times and really enjoyed it alot. I had to sing a special in Spanish in Mexico with Dave a couple of years ago and that was very interesting!!!

Heather~
I love the pics of your family singing together: it brought back BIG TIME memories of when Julia and I served a 5 wk internship in Honduras. The singing is kinda hard to describe unless you've BEEN THERE AND DONE THAT!! There doesn't appear to be any such thing as falsetto or varying tones in Central America!!
Also, this recipe exchange is benefitting our family as well! I made a batch of your muffins on Fri evening for dessert, and were such a HUGE hit that I was 'coerced' into a 2nd batch last evening!! Thanks for the yumm-o recipe!
Blessings,
th
