~My Ladies Retreat Time!~

Thanks bunches for all your sweet comments on my Fall decor.  Y'all are the Best! =)
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
So, I've always wanted to go to a Ladies' retreat, but never had the chance. Most of the last 14 years I've lived in AZ (too far to get back East) or been on the mission field.
This Fall someone called me and offered to PAY MY WAY to the Ladies Retreat in Vermillion, OH.  Isn't GOD AWESOME!?  (And that person is pretty special too!! =)
That was so nice and I was looking forward to sitting and SOAKING in....since I've been GIVING OUT lots on the mission field and with Deputation!
I rode with the ladies in this picture and we had a fun time on the way up to the retreat and back.
~Here we are at Durr Dutchman's restaurant.  A yummy Amish restaurant...with lots of fun EYE CANDY in their gift shop.  But it's the kind of shop that I only GET INSPIRATION from.....for it was Super COSTY!!! (One fake Gourd cost $68.00!!!  If we would have purchased that and brought it home, it would be like this, "Well, Honey, we have NO FOOD this week, but hey, we got a gourd.  Ha! =) ~
~The Ladies retreat was on Lake Erie.  So relaxing to hear the waves crashing in.~
~Yours truly...so I could send a picture to my WONDERFUL MAN...whom I was really missing!~
~Dear Ms. Linda.  She, Michele, and I roomed together.  We had a great time.  One night we talked till 1:00 AM.~
~Michele and I.  We've been friends for a LONG time.  (Since I was probably 7 or 8 when we became friends. =) ~
~Our speakers were Joy and Julie Budenseik.  They did a great job.~

~Our speakers doing a funny little thing about food...wearing masks.~
~I was so glad that Michelle J. from our church (L) and my missions directors' wife, Sis. B. got to come too.~
~On Saturday afternoon they had a short hair session.
They called it, "Holiness Hair-itage!"  A Women's Hair is Her glory!"~
~My "Cousin-in-law" Stephanie Burley telling us how she does her curly bun.~
~I'm not really one who likes to get up front (unless I'm singing), and I wouldn't consider myself a "Hair guru!"  But, I was asked to get up and show/tell about a couple 3 hair styles.~

~Then after the hair session on Saturday afternoon there was free time and we ladies WENT SHOPPING!!!  I Know you are so SHOCKED!!!   =D
Here I am at probably my all time favorite store...GOODWILL!!!  I find so many TREASURES there for pennies! ~
~Michele and I eating supper Saturday night.~
~The Henry Miller family sang that night.  They did a great job.  I cried through probably most of their songs.  (I told you I was going to SOAK IN!! =) ~
~I sang with the choir on Sunday morning.~
~It was such a fun and relaxing weekend, and I enjoyed myself tons!!!
However, there was ONE VERY SPECIAL MAN, and 5 precious children in Cinci, that I was MORE THAN READY TO GET BACK TO!!!
When I got home he had THESE ROSES waiting for me.  HOW I L.O.V.E. that man.
Another 10 days or so and He'll come home to me.
PLEASE keep praying for my Phillip and for David Spivey!!!
Pray that God will give them strength, protection, and help them to be a BLESSING to the 3 churches in Colombia.  They are finished in Medellin, and now have classes/services in Cartegena and Bogota.  Thanks!~

It was so good to see you at the retreat, Heather! I'm laughing as I think about our conversation.
;-)
Given a little forewarning, we could've had some serious fun with that hair session...lol! Afterward, some dear lady (who I don't even know) came up and bopped me on the back of the head and said, "You DO have a lot of hair!" I guess she thought it was all air or something. Haha!

Dear Heather, How nice that you gave us a report on your attendance at this retreat. I've wondered what goes on at these occasions. Oh, it sounded neat to get to be by Lake Erie! No wonder dear Phillip had roses for his wife; I can imagine he was HAPPY to have you come home to rule the roost again. Ha! I have never heard the Henry Miller family sing . I can imagine that was some beautiful harmony besides being encouraging, as you stated.
Love, Mom D

PS - I love your new picture of Phillip and you at the top of your blog. Those pictures of you two by the edge of different bodies of water are so neat.
Oh yes, also it was a delight to see pictures of Ms. Linda. I need to write that dear lady a letter to tell her how much I love her and to tell her that I think she is one wonderful woman. Smile. Mom D
