Their little red lips and cherub nose!

Their tiny belly button-the only remaining sign

Of how they survived Before their birth time!

I'll tell you what has got me beat!!!

Is how right after they are born, they know how to breathe and eat!

Who teaches them to smile their very first smile?

And DO THEY KNOW it makes a Mommy's work seem worthwhile?

Babies are Amazing, aren't they?!

Have you studied their sweet little dimpled hand?

Babies have got to be one of the biggest miracles "known to man!" :-D

How can one so tiny and so small

Bring SUCH A HUGE JOY to one and all?

Babies are Amazing, aren't they?!

How can they have Genes from "Grandpa Clyde"

and genes from "Great Aunt Clementine" on the other side? 

How can they wiggle themselves RIGHT INTO your heart?

And then...from then on they are an Integral part?!

How can fingernails grow on the end of fingers so small?

And how can a baby so tiny grow up to be 6' tall?

Besides being a Good wife to her husband (remember we became a HELP MEET BEFORE we became a Mommy ;-)...MOTHERHOOD IS the MOST IMPORTANT Job a lady can have!!!

Do you ever feel like you wash the SAME ol' dishes, and the SAME clothes, and the SAME sticky floors...and that your life is just a Merry-Go-Round of events, with "Not Much to show" for all you do?
Does it sound fun to "Dress up" and have a "Real Job?"
Just remember that the devil would want us to feel like being a Mommy is at the "bottom of the totem pole, when really it's the WORLD that has made things backwards!

Skip the Secretary job or the High rise, those things WILL PASS AWAY...and let's invest in little lives.  

OUR JOB IS at the TOP of God's list!  

What a privilege to help form a person for LIFE and FOR GOD!!

But, hey, who said you couldn't "dress up" at home?
Skip the sweatshirt and that faded jean skirt that has a bleach stain, and dress up.
You will feel better about yourself and your family will enjoy you making HOME LIFE special by your dress too.  It doesn't have to be your "Sunday Best," just something fun!
You may not want to walk around in heels all day, but you could throw them on right before your husband gets home, or right before supper.  :-)

In 2011 Phillip and I lost several things due to a mold problem in our apartment in Colombia.
We decided then and there that "saving special things to use later" wasn't such a great idea.
So...
~BURN THAT CANDLE you have been saving to use "Some day,"
~Enjoy those shoes you never wear for fear they will get scratched, And
~Use that China that you don't want to use lest one piece gets broken.

Life is too short to not enjoy ALL the things that God has given us.  :-)

Dear Heather, Homemaker,

May the blessings of the Lord fill your heart and your home.

May God fill you with His strength, patience and anointing as you nurture your six precious children, Kimberly, Sarah, Noah, Elijah, Mary, and your newest little one, the children that God has so graciously given to you. Each one is a special gift from God, aren’t they?

Heather, you are doing a mighty work. There is nothing greater that you could be doing in the whole of the world. Your work is for eternity. Your children are eternal souls who will live forever. Not only are you training them for the purposes God has for them in this world, but you are also preparing them for the eternal world! Wow! What a mission!

How blessed you are to have your children around you. I know that you often feel overwhelmed, but I want to remind you that in the midst of all the frustrations and tiredness, that this is a very precious time of your life. It was the most precious time of my life. I look back and remember the times I felt “so tired” and yet I can’t think of anything in my life that has been more meaningful and more joyful than those wonderful days.

Don't endure each day, but seek to make it special. You will never have these days with your children again. They are for such a short time. Enjoy them. Revel in them. You may feel that you are not accomplishing a lot each day, but there are years ahead to do all the projects you want to do. But at the moment, your lovely children are your priority. I remember thinking as I watched my children, “I will never forget them at this moment,” but the years have gone and I can't recall many of those moments. They are now all married and raising their own children and currently we have 34 grandchildren.

Back in those days I remember reading the thoughts of another mother and they were a comfort to me. She said,

"These are the never years. Never enough money, never enough time, never enough sleep - but always enough love. The sweetest kiss of a baby, the tooth-paste-flavored kiss of a child on his way to school (sadly, homeschooling wasn't in process in those days 40 years ago); the sleepy kiss of a husband who is just as tired as you.

These are the busy years, the wonderful, hectic, impossible years. Soon the children will be grown and I'll have plenty of time to organize my house, to sew and to cultivate outside interests. I wonder if it will be as wonderful as I sometimes dream it will? Or am I in the middle of the wonderful years... right now?"

Yes, you are in the wonderful years now. I look back on the years when all my little brood were under my wings (or I should say, under my legs and in my arms and one or other of them needing me at every moment) and they were definitely the most blessed years of my life. At one stage I had three in 17 months! That's because I had twins although they are now 48 years old! Then I had four children in less than four years. So I can certainly relate to how you feel at the moment.

We eventually had six, although we have since adopted some teenagers from Liberia.  But six children never seemed very many. Nearly every day my husband and I say to each other, "Where are the rest of our children? I wish we'd had twelve!" It just seems like one blink of an eye and they have all grown up and married.

I love some of the beautiful names God calls our children. Isn't this a lovely one? The "beloved fruit of the womb." (Hosea 9:16) Not just the "fruit of the womb", but also the "beloved fruit of the womb." The context of this passage is God’s judgment, because of their wicked works, was to destroy the beloved fruit of their womb, but it reveals how God views children and also how the early Hebrews felt about their children.

Hebrews 11:7 is a great Scripture, "By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith."

For 100 years, Noah did the same old thing - hammered, nailed and kept on building his ark. He didn't have time to do all the things that everyone else was doing. He just kept on slogging and being faithful, doing the same thing every day for all those years - but in doing so he condemned the world. Yes, he changed the world because he stuck with the job he was given to do! He changed the world by doing the same thing day after day after day.  And at the same time he saved his family!

You may feel that you are just doing the same old thing every day, but as you are faithful to raise godly children, and build an ark for the saving of your house, you will condemn the world around you.  You are accomplishing far more than those who go out to seek a worldly career to the detriment to their highest calling. Your influence goes on into the generations and even into eternity.

Isn't it amazing that our daily faithfulness in the home will have its impact on earth -- and also for eternity? It can change the world! We have to remember that bearing and raising children is a long-term investment - in fact, an eternal one! In a culture where everyone wants everything to happen instantaneously, we must learn to think long term - for the future.

So rejoice and be glad in your high and noble calling.

YOU ARE CHANGING THE WORLD!

Remember, you have the most important career in the nation!

I love teas, coffees, pastries, pretty dishes, pretty tables, etc.
But, none of us can afford to go to Starbucks or a bakery very often.
So, I bring "Starbucks" and "Buskins' Bakery" right into my home.  ;-)
At least 2 to 3 times a week, I try to "delight and surprise" my family with a special treat.
Yesterday, Mary and I made "Pumpkin Pie Lattes" for our family. :-) ~

~Our visitors~

~For some time now we have been wanting to get with Percy and his girlfriend Sara. They attended the Allegheny Bible School in Peru where our fellow missionaries Bryon and Michele Fling worked. After living here the first time, we found out that they were also here in Buenos Aires.
The Flings have wanted us to meet them for some time now, and it finally worked out that we could meet them this past Monday.
~Since I wasn't for sure if they could come until last minute, and I had a busy Home school day, we just made a simple snack to serve them.~

~I'm enjoying having my little white tricycle to use again.  :-) ~

~Our simple menu was Grilled ham and cheese sandwiches, a plate of pickles, olives, and cheeses, crackers and butter and jelly, sliced apples, homemade lemonade, and ice cream for dessert. :-) ~

~Sara holding our Abigail and I.  We had a nice visit with them.  We got along great, and felt like we had known them all our lives. :-)~

~Our Abigail is 6 Months!~

As we look at the photos from being in Argentina a year ago, we see that all of our children have changed or grown.
However, ABIGAIL is the one who has GROWN the most!  :-)
THIS is how big Abigail was last January (this is her first ultrasound pic)...and now ....

just look at how BIG she is Today! :-)

The kids and I had fun setting up a little studio and taking Abigail's 6 month pictures. :-)

~Celebrating God calling us to be missionaries...2015!~

~ In 2004 God called us to be missionaries. In 2004-2005 we did deputation, 2005-2006 we went to Costa Rica for one year to study Spanish {and tried to help out in the Holiness churches there.} 
In June 2006 we moved to Colombia to start working for Jesus there. We still work in Colombia through PRAYER, offerings, and serving the people and churches from a distance, and go to visit and teach/preach 2 to 3 times a year.  We have been working here in Argentina on and off since Oct. 2011.
So saying that, Back in 2012 Phillip decided that once a year our family should go to a restaurant of a different cultural food to celebrate God calling us to be missionaries. 
He takes this time to remind us of how SERIOUS this calling is, and that we must remain FAITHFUL to God in every part of our lives... even the little things.
So, around Valentine's day 2012 we did that for the first time.  We have done it every year since then around Valentine's day.
This year was no exception.
Phillip looked on line and found a French restaurant with decent prices, so we went downtown to eat there.
It didn't open until 8:00 P.M. so we stopped by and saw the "Puente de la Mujer" (Womens' Bridge) which our friends Leo and Caro had taken us to back in 2012.
We hadn't been here since then, so it was fun to see this fun white bridge and take lots of pics. :-)

Buenos Aires, Argentina, Feb. 14th, 2015~

After walking SEVERAL BLOCKS to get to the French restaurant...getting there at 9:00 P.M. on a Saturday night, we were sorely surprised and Disappointed to find out that since it was Valentine's day, it was Reservations only!  :-(
We didn't even know that they celebrated Valentine's day here in Argentina.
We knew our friends from the Chinese church knew about it, but figured it was because of their association with the USA.
So, we began to walk and every restaurant that we passed said the same thing, "Reservations only!"  :-(
We were tooooo tired, thirsty, hungry, and running out of time.... to walk allll the blocks back (14 blocks or more) to the McDonalds we had seen, and we knew that the other restaurants by the river would be too spendy...so finally we passed a Vegetarian restaurant.
Phillip went in and asked and they said that they were reservations only as well, but said that they would allow us to eat there anyways.
So, though it wasn't our first choice food wise, at least we could eat and go home before it got to late! :-)
It was a cute restaurant with a fun atmosphere, decent prices, and pretty good, but very different food.  :-)

~To save money we split 3 meals.
Each meal came with an appetizer, a main plate, a drink, and then a dessert and coffee.
Here was our very interesting appetizer.
Slices of melon, a piece of star fruit, some avocado, a special sauce with almonds, etc.  They brought us yummy dinner rolls as well.~

~Our drink was Mint-Ginger lemonade.  Very strong, but very good. :-) ~

~Our main dish was some kind of whole grain rice with blended greens, with some "meat balls" made out of soy? and served with tomatoes and beets on top.  They gave us oil and vinegar to pour on top which gave it a yummy flavor. :-) ~

~And here's our little cute chump...Abigail chewing on her hand, trying to help more teeth to come in.~  :-) ~

~If you look closely, you can see her 2 bottom teeth that I never can get in a picture.~

~She cracked us up when she put her passy in her mouth this way sucking on the ribbon.  :-) ~

~And this was our dessert.  "Brownies" (I think they were made out of figs and nuts) with ice cream, a chocolate or carob sauce, a sliced strawberry, a choc. covered almond, and a piece of a fig.  It came with a strong coffee and was pretty tasty.~

~Phillip encouraged our family to keep seeking after God and humbling ourselves so He could use us for His Glory.

~We passed this and it looked so typical Argentina (and European) and so fun with the tables and chairs outside that I had to snap a pic. :-) ~

Though our evening turned out quite differently than we expected, it was a very fun evening remembering God's calling and high responsibility that He has given our family.

~HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!!~

This is the 3rd time now that we have gotten to have U. Charlie and A. Yoli over for Valentine's day.  :-)
The first time was in 2012, when we had really just met them.  You can click this link to see...Our Valentines dinner at our first apt. in 2012!

Since then, we have developed such a fun friendship with them and we LOVE THEM to pieces!  :-)
They and their brother Mr. Willie are graciously loaning us their parents' beautiful home, so we wanted to have them over again for a Valentine's dinner and to TRY to Thank them for all their kindness to our family!!

After my fall on Monday, A. Yoli called to check on me, and told me over the phone that we could post-pone the dinner, but I told her that Jesus would help me and we were really looking forward to having them over. :-)
Jesus REALLY DID help me as I got ready for the dinner.
On Tuesday I was sore, and on Wednesday, I could hardly MOVE...but with Jesus and my family's help...I was able to get ALL the goodies made that I wanted to get made for the dinner.  :-)

  ~I love my little white chalkboard I brought with me last time and...I LOVE MY FAMILY!! :-) ~

 Last time I was here in Argentina I was telling A. Yoli how much I LOVED bird cages and lanterns.  Aunt Yoli said, "Well, there is an old bird cage in the back building that my mother-in-law used for her birds, if you want to use it to decorate with you may."
So, I went out there and found this cute little green birdcage.
Well, the other day, I got up the nerve to ask if they minded if I painted it white.  :-)  A. Yoli said that she didn't care!
So, I got busy with some left-over spray paint (that we used to paint the little flower basket that Mary carried in the wedding last May) and got it NEARLY white before I ran out of paint.  :-)  We couldn't get any more paint before our Valentine's dinner, but it at least looked "sort of white" for my table! :-)

 ~I wanted to make 2 fresh cherry pies, so my Sweetheart made me a tool out of an old fork to "take the pit out of the cherries!"  You just poke those 2 fork tines into the bottom of the cherry, hook the seed, and pull out the seed.  BUT BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU WEAR...for there will be juice squirting out while you are pitting the cherries. :-)

~Phillip and Sarah helped me gather fresh flowers from our backyard to put around the house.~

 There is a lot of European influence here in Argentina.
Last time I was here, someone asked me if I had ever made French Macaron cookies.  I had seen pictures of them, but had never eaten them, that I remember, nor had I ever made them.
So this time, I decided I wanted to try making some.  Jesus helped me and they turned out yummy!
~Here are my light pink French Macaron cookies with red raspberry jam filling!~

 ~I LOVE my little white covered cake stand that Phillip got me last year...And my little wooden Tea box that holds tea bags that says, "The teas of the world" in French :-) ~

 ~Melt in your mouth...deliciousness... my family LOVED THEM and quickly became my FAN! :-) ~

 ~Here is the kids' table.  If our big table would have been bigger we could have set them at our table, but since it wasn't, we tried to make their table festive too. :-) ~

 ~I set the French Macaron cookies on the up-side-down coffee cups and put a little banner in them with each persons' name...as the place setting. ~

~And I hung this cute little cheap pink and white banner up to make the kid's table and dinning room more festive. ~

 ~I have future plans for this banner...so you will be seeing it again shortly.  :-) ~

 ~I used their baby sister Abigail's picture and my LOVE sign from Target last year as part of their table decor.~

 ~And here are my (and Mary's) dinner rolls!~

 ~And here's my MOSTLY WHITE bird cage.  I was happy with it on my table.  :-)
I put fresh pink flowers from our back yard in my WHITE TEA POT inside the bird cage.~

 ~I used the same pink flowers and put them in 3 coke bottles next to my chalkboard.~

 ~While in Colombia we all had bad COLDS, so we bought a box of Kleenex tissues for our room.  When I saw these 2 LOVE BIRDS on a box of Kleenex I KNEW I had to have THAT BOX!
When we finished the box, I just COULD NOT throw them away. :-)
They reminded me of Phillip and I.  :-) 
So, I cut them off the Kleenex box and brought them with me to Argentina...and framed them.~

 ~I brought several pics of our family with me from the USA.  But, I needed inexpensive frames!
The other day we went to a Chinese variety store (like a dollar store) and Jesus helped me find these CHEAPLY MADE frames for CHEAP!  YEA! ~

 ~If you'll notice frame #1 and #5.... both are "TWO LOVE BIRDS!"  :-D ~

 ~U. Charlie's father is a very good artist.  He has drawn/written all the Chinese writings you see in this house, including this LARGE one.
Incredible!~

 ~This is are LATEST Valentine...baby Abigail. :-) These 2 pics are similar, but in this one she is slightly smiling, and you can sort of see her dimple in her right cheek.~

 ~This is her dress from Aunt Yamile in Colombia.~

 ~So here's our table!
I found these cute little China plates with pink flowers on them here in the house, so I included them in our tablescape.
The pink plates are just cheap re-usable plastic ones, but they add a fun touch of color. :-) ~
