~Quiche for Breakfast~

Tomorrow night (Saturday night) we are having a couples dinner for the couples in our church. It will be a yummy buffet, we will play a game to see how well we know our mates, and Pastor Jimmy, and Sis. Farly, Phillip and I will each give a short challenging devotional. At least one couple plans on renewing their vows. Please pray that God will bless this effort. Thank you!

Some weeks back I told you about a delicious quiche recipe that I made for our anniversary breakfast. I told you that I would post the recipe...so...here it is! (With some changes that I added to the recipe.)

~Basic Quiche by Shelly~ (allrecipes.com)
Ingredients:
4 eggs
2 cups half and half cream
1/8 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
Some chopped onion
1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg
some garlic salt
6 ounces cheddar cheese, grated
1 (9") unbaked pie shell
chopped precooked ham
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees F.

2. In a large bowl whisk together eggs and half and half. Season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and nutmeg. Place grated cheese, onion, and ham in the pie shell. Pour egg mixture over all of this in the pie shell.

3. Bake in preheated oven for 15 minutes. Reduce heat to 350 F and bake for 25 minutes, or until crust is golden and filling is set. Allow to set 5 to 10 minutes before serving.
(If you are making your own crust, I made it the night before and put it in the pie plate, covered it and put it in the fridge. So, the next morning I just mixed the above ingredients and threw them in my prepared pie shell and baked it.)
Serve with fresh fruit...YUMMY!!!

Thanks for the recipe. Sounds good perhaps I will try it on the Kemps. They will be visiting with us for a couple days next week. Counting the hours. I love you, Moma
