~Happy Birthday to Me =)~

My sweet Daddy wrote a nice birthday post for me on his blog. Thank you, Daddy.
~Look who is 35 and Happy to be alive. =)~
~The Birthday girl and her baby~
~I had Kimberly take this picture of Elijah and I. His frown cracks us up. =)~
Last week My dear friend Marisol offered to take me to a flower market which is held for 2 hours every Tuesday and Friday morning outside of a LARGE fruit and veggie and miscellaneous market. So, my 4 kids, Marisol, and I went. We left our house around 7:30 AM and enjoyed seeing the HUNDREDS of beautiful flowers grown in Colombia that were displayed at this outdoor market. Then afterwards we went into the market ate together, got some vases for my flowers, bought some other things/groceries and came home! I didn't take many pics at the market for I didn't want our camera stolen in the HUGE crowd.
~Here is Kimberly holding Elijah in the flower market.~
~As Americans...We were ALREADY drawing WAY Too much attention in this CROWD. (In these pictures you cannot see the crowd, but there were so many people that we could hardly walk at times.) So not wanting them to see my camera too( to rob it)...I didn't have time to have Marisol, Sarah and Noah pose before I snapped this picture.~
~Marisol and I in front of where you buy eggs. Most Colombian ladies buy only 3 to 6 or so eggs at a time, and the sellers pack them up in a plastic bag. Talk about needing to be CAREFUL carrying the eggs home and HOPING that they ARRIVE to your house as eggs and not a mess!! =) They normally just buy what they need for that day or the next, then go back to the store again. Since I do LOTS of baking...I buy 30 eggs at a time and they are packed in a carton. I'm sure they are AMAZED at me buying 30 eggs each week.~
~We found these miniature pineapples and thought that they were so cute. Each of our kids got one. When we got home, Noah wanted me to take a picture of a big pineapple (as the Daddy) and a little pineapple (as the baby!) =D~~One flower saleslady thought that Noah was so cute that she came over and hugged him and gave him these flowers. =)~
~I bought several flowers because I thought that they were neat or pretty (it was also nice because they were sooo CHEAP)...and then when I got home I had fun trying to figure out how to put them together as pretty flower arrangements. =D Here is the red bird of paradise flower, a miniature pineapple and stars of Bethlehem flowers that I bought. The stars of Bethlehem will open and turn white and last for quite a while.~
~I bought these 2 orange bird of Paradise flowers, and white Jasmine flowers that smell Wonderful, and the red flower I just bought 'cause it was pretty.~
~I am happy with these sunflowers and cattails that I bought to put in this basket.~
~I bought this basket and then got home and when we took the plastic off...I realized that it was made out of NEWSPAPER!! When you are very close to it, you can read WORDS on this basket. Now that is what I call creative...making and weaving a basket out of newspaper and dyeing it so that it appears to be a REAL basket. Neat! =)~
It was a delightful day with my kids and Marisol.

Happy Birthday, Heather! Hope your day is extra-special!

The flowers you bought at the flower market were beautiful. I love unique and out-of-the ordinary flowers.

The miniature pineapple was cute. Noah had a great idea for having you take a picture of both sizes together! Can you eat them or are they just for decoration?

What a neat place to buy your eggs. I'm sure they are a lot fresher than the ones we buy in our stores here. :) I buy lots of eggs each week, also. I love to bake and once a week we like to eat a big breakfast for our evening meal. That takes a lot of eggs for 6 hungry people!

Sweetheart Heather: I looked at your blog just now and was trying to think whose birthday it was. When it dawned on me that it was YOURS my teeth about fell out of my head. I can't believe I forgot all about it. This post with pictures of you is adorable. I loved this post with the flowers, your friend, the market place, your children, and the teeny tiny pineapples. I miss you and your family so much that it hurts. Thank you for these blog posts that you keep up with so frequently. Now we have two dollys with birthdays on Nov 6 - you and little Sophia Lynnette. This also was Bud's brother, Bob's birthday. Thank you for being such a loving wife and mother to your family. It is a joy to see. Love, Mom D

Happy Birthday!
The minature pineapples are especially interesting to me as I received my Country Woman yesterday and Ann Kaiser did a work day at Colonial Williamsburg. She talked a bit about the minature pineapples. i'd never heard of them before. Do they taste any different from regular ones?

Happy Birthday little girl! Daddy and I were so happy to have another girl to even our family. It was so fun to see the two boys grow up together and then two little girls. You and Laura were always such good friends and looked so cute together. It was so neat that God gave you simuliar talents and interests all through life. And then gave each of you to men that were called to serve missions abroad. This has drawn you even closer as each of you used your strengths to balance and encourage each other. Daddy always tells folk that we have two little boys and two little girls, three years apart and that we ordered them from Sears. ;-) I agree that it was a perfect order but I was there - you did not come from Sears! Your post was lovely and while you are giving so much God is giving to you. I am so glad that you have found such a nice friend. Did I say friend? I should have said "friends" for who else gets a call on their birthday and a "whole school" sings to them. How thoughtful. Thirty-five years ago I was a happy new Mom and today I still know the same happiness for my little girl has grown to be one of my best friends. I love you, Moma

I hope you had a wonderful birthday, Heather! I haven't done much blogging until the last few days...but I did enjoy seeing the pics of your family. That baby is just TOO cute! :)

Last fall, I must have made those cappuccino muffins that you gave the recipe for at least a dozen times. My hubby requested them the other day, and I can't find the recipe anywhere! :( Would you happen to still have that recipe handy? I'd be so grateful!

Blessings!

I'm kicking myself for forgetting to tell you Happy Birthday yesterday!! I did remember that it was your birthday, only I'm running in 17 directions so I forgot to write you! Hope it was great. Love all of the flowers... I know you feel the same way when you see all of the different kinds, but doesn't it speak of God's awesome creativity?? I mean, who else could have come up with so many exotic and different plants and fruits/ vegetables? They are just beautiful and I love your arrangements too!!

Happy late birthday. I didn't realize our birthdays were so close together.

I'm glad you had a fun day.

I have yet to post my birthday photos. Maybe, eventually, I'll get around to it. :)
