~Some books I recommend.~

PLEASE PRAY FOR JIMMY. WHILE AT SCHOOL A STUDENT THREW A BALL AND IT HIT JIMMY'S GLASSES WHICH SHOVED IT INTO JIMMY'S EYE AND NOW FOR 3 WEEKS JIMMY IS SEEING A BLACK LINE IN THE MIDDLE OF HIS EYE. HIS GLASSES ARE BROKEN, AND IT APPEARS THAT HE HAS A DETACHED RETINA SO HE MAY NEED SURGERY. GOD IS ABLE TO HEAL HIM.
~I absolutely LOVE this JCP's picture of our Elijah.~
OK Ladies, I'm not a book reader. My personality would rather be washing dishes, ironing, vacuuming, being with my family, scrapbooking our family pictures, COOKING AND BAKING...rather than sitting down reading. (I do like to LISTEN to books while I'm working...for I feel like I'm getting something done while I'm "reading". =) I'm NOT saying that reading isn't a good thing to do, I just can't do much of it or I'll go insane for I need to be doing something with my hands. However...there are some books that I try to read at least once a year...and those are books that challange me to be a better wife/Mommy. That is my goal in life is to be the best Christian, wife and Mommy I can be. So...having said that...here are some books that I recommend for all you wives out there.
~Back in 2006 I heard about this book...Created to be His Helpmeet and I purchased it. Though I may not agree with everything she has to say (standard wise) this book challenged me to be a better wife.~~About 2 weeks before I left the USA to come back here to Colombia, I saw this book recommended by Melodie Sankey on her blog. The name of the book is Love and Respect. I was able to get it my last day in the USA. I haven't finished it yet (for it's hard to hold a big book and hold my active baby at the same time) but what I have read so far has been good. It is showing us how to respect our husbands and showing them how to love their wives~
And now I'll leave you with some pics of our kids.
~We got Elijah a walker.~

~Elijah says...Does anyone know how hard it is to sleep STANDING UP? =)~
~It's tiring being a baby.~
~Elijah and his big brother Noah... both in their jammies.~

Cute pictures of little Elijah. I love how hard he thinks it is trying to sleep while he is standing. Dear Noah and Kimberly are such good helpers with your little blond Elijah! I am happy to see how much Kimberly helps with her baby brother. I will find that book about Love & Respect because I want to be the best wife I can be to the BEST husband in the world-my Bud. I love you for how you try to be a wonderful wife, mom, and friend. I appreciate you so much, dearest Heather. Your mother-in-law, Sherry

I can nor believe how BIG Elijah is getting! Soo cute too! Isn't it fun to have a baby around? We all enjoy Caleb very much especially now that he is smiling back at us!
I want to read that Love and Respect as well! My hubby has been gone since last Sat. and will not be back until this coming Thursday! He is over on South Cacous Island helping repair missions houses from the hurricanes they have has go thru there. You can read all about it on our blog and the AWESOME way God opened doors for him to go. I miss him very much! :>(

Your blog is much easier to read with this light background. I am glad you changed it, Heather. I love how current you keep the postings on your blog, as it is wonderful knowing how and what you are doing in Colombia. We will pray for dear Jimmy's eye. God is able to take him through this crisis. Love, Mom D

I'm like you - I normally don't have time to read either. But, my sister Kim sent me the book Created to be His Helpmeet. It is an incredible book! I am enjoying it so much! I now recommend it to every lady I know! I've never read the other one, maybe I will after I finish the one I'm on. It takes me forever to get through a book because I only have time to read paragraphs at a time!

Poor Jimmy! My mother-in-law had to have surgery for a detatched retina about a year ago, so I understand a little of what he's going through.
Love seeing the pics, especially the one from JCPenneys. Precious!

I, too, enjoyed reading Created to be His Help Meet. It really was challenging! I have been trying to read more lately... it's rather fun once you get into it!
I loved getting caught up with your blog! Love the new look, too!
Glad to see you all seem to be doing so well! May God bless your ministry!

Hi Heather! It is nice to catch up with you through your blog! I am the opposite of you - I would rather read than anything else! I have read both of these books and by far the Love and Respect is my favorite! There is a great video series with this that I highly recommend for our churches!!! I think that all couples need this book!! I also love the pics of the kids - they are growing quickly!!!

That is one nice way to spell love - with Elijah's round face making the O. Good idea.
Love you ALL,
Dad

I have both of those books, and have been giving the Created book as a wedding gift for new brides. It's one of the best out there.
