~Our Memorial Day...& an answer to prayer!~

So...I know this is a tad late...but I wanted to post pics from our Memorial day and tell you about an answer to prayer that my Jesus did for me!=)
~Here's the fun "Uncle's Sam's fresh Berry Pie" that I made.~

~I did a fun thing around the edge of the crust...I did several indentions with a spoon.  I took a pic of it before it went into the oven...for I KNEW that my crust would probably SLIDE down into the pie plate when it baked...and I was right!  =(~

~Our fun table with fresh red flowers!~
~I love Red, white and blue together...I especially love this color blue with red.  We normally cannot find lemons here...only green limes.  We were thrilled that Phillip found some yellow lemons...so made some yummy fresh lemonade with them!~
~Another shot of our yummy pie!~
~Enjoying our meal.  Kimberly was very SICK, so didn't look at the camera nor did she want pictures taken of her. =( ~

~A Praise!~
One evening we were coming back to our house and fixin' to go into the office of our housing development (which is where we get our mail) when I prayed right out loud..."Dear Jesus, You could help my Better Homes and Gardens magazine to be here!!"
When we walked into the office I asked if there was any mail for house #6 and the guard pulled out...YOU GUESSED IT...My June Better Homes and Gardens magazine!!!
I was SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO HAPPY and squealed with delight and told the guard that this was an answer to prayer!  (Thank you to everyone who helped me pray that my BHG mag. would come in the mail! Keep praying...I'm hoping to get my July and Aug. issues in the mail before we go to Argentina! =)
My sweet Moma sent me the April and May BHG magazines with Melanie...since those were the ones that didn't receive in the mail!  =D
~One HAPPY ME with my long-awaited magazine!~
Coming soon...Pics from Melanie's first Sunday with us!

~Give us this day our Daily Bread!~

When I was reflecting on the "leaning tower of garlic toast" that I had taken to the table to eat with our dinner I was reminded of 3 things.
First: God is FAITHFUL and provides for our needs (and many of our wants.=)
Second:   God has blessed Phillip and I with 5 precious children! (And with kids who are GROWING...I'm SURE that the STACK OF TOAST will only grow LARGER with time. ;-)
Third:   A neat answer to prayer that my parents shared with me...from before I was born.
This is how I remember my Moma telling me the story.  My Moma grew up in a home which may not have been "well-to-do" but Granddaddy made sufficient to take care of his family well.  My Moma married my Daddy at the age of 18 and they started their own home.  Shortly thereafter God called Daddy to be a teacher in a Christian school.  (He ended up teaching and helping to found SEVERAL Christian schools in different States.)  As you know...Christian School teachers aren't known for "raking in the dough".  On one occasion my Grandparents were coming to visit my parents.  Daddy had just asked Moma if they were doing ok, for he wanted to send their last $10.00 for that month to some missionaries.  Moma didn't realize that they were out of bread when she said that she thought they could send the offering.  Later she discovered that they had no bread and barely any flour and no money to buy either!  She did NOT want her parents (who weren't the type that had to "pray in things") to come and see them in need!  So Moma told Daddy about their need, and they gathered my 2 brothers and my sister Laura who was a baby then into the living room for prayer.  The kids were so young that they weren't going burden them with WHAT the need was...rather just going to pray in words that GOD would understand...telling Him about their need.  My Daddy started out..."Our Father...not intending  to pray The Lord's Prayer...but just using that as an introduction to His prayer.  But they had recently been teaching The Lord's Prayer to their 3 small children and so my brother Lincoln (probably 5 or so) piped up and said, "Which art in He-ben, Hallowed be DY Name".  Daddy and Moma joined Lincoln in His prayer...KNOWING that in that Prayer were the words, "Give Us This Day OUR DAILY BREAD."  After their time of prayer, Moma went back into the kitchen and made some bread out of the tad of remaining flour, oatmeal, and whatever else she could find.     It was enough to make up a loaf of bread to serve my Grandparents when they got there.  When Granddaddy and Grandmother arrived...my Moma was SHOCKED to see what was in their hands.   They came in bearing a paper bag FULL OF...YOU GUESSED IT...Bread!!  They had NEVER brought bread before to Daddy and Moma's house!!
What is your "Daily Bread Need" today?...GOD IS ABLE!!

~Answer to prayer, pics, and please pray....~

Thank you for all of your sweet annivesary wishes! We had a nice day together. We had a yummy and sweet breakfast date at a nearby bakery and had fun just sitting and chatting together. I am very blessed with the GREAT husband that Jesus has given me! =)
THANK YOU for praying about that last paper we needed for our Colombian visas! The lawyer FINALLY gave it to us yesterday! YEA! PRAISE THE LORD! =)

HOWEVER...There is still one more loophole to jump through in order to renew our Colombian visas, so your prayers are still needed. We are to work on our visas again this week! God knows what is best!
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
~Here are the beautiful flowers that my sweetheart got me~ He told me the other day something to this affect...while we live in Colombia I love to get you flowers for they are cheap...but I'm sure that there will come a day when I won't be able to afford to get you flowers as often. =)

~This was a yummy cake that Jimmy and Farly gave us for our anniversary. Muchisimas Gracias, Hermano Jimmy, y Hermana Farly. Les Queremos mucho! =)
~This picture is hard to see...but yesterday evening Noah told us that his thumb was hurting. A few hours later we noticed that his thumb on his left hand (below his thumb nail) was all swollen and filled with pus. UGH! It appears that maybe a spider bit him. Please pray that everything will be fine with his thumb. Phillip has read up on spider bites and so we are doing all that we know to help him.~
~Tomorrow Bro. Jimmy has to have his 4th eye surgery! Please pray that all goes well!!! Thank you!!

~Even before you know what you have need of...~

First off, Thank each of you for your prayers for Phillip's toothache. God helped him to be able to preach pain-free on both services on Sunday, and by Monday he had no pain at all. Praise the Lord. Also, I've always carried all of my babies the same way....just a basketball in front...so I really have no idea if this baby is a girl or boy...for I looked the same with each. For those of you that have predicted a 10 lb. boy, that is what Noah weighed...10 lbs. 6.7 ounces. I HOPE that this baby weighs LESS than Noah though. =D (I'll post a pic of how HUGE I got with Noah later).
~Does God care about a bike rack? YES! HE DOES!! The bicycles here are sold WITHOUT kickstands! And the way they make houses here...our garage door IS OUR FRONT DOOR. I didn't like it that our kids bikes were always laying down on the floor, looking messy. (We didn't want them leaning against the walls, for the paint is a peach color and gets DIRTY so FAST!!) So, A couple weeks ago I was telling Phillip that I would LOVE to find a bike rack (like they have in front of stores to lock your bikes to) that would just hold 3 bikes, so that our garage and front door would look neater. The next day as we walked to our Fruit and Veggie market, there was a bike rack right beside the guard shack of the guard of our street. So, I asked him if he knew where I could buy one of those. He told me that he would try to find out and let me know. I went on home and then Phillip left to teach his Bible class. About 5 minutes later, our doorbell rang, and it was the street guard WITH THE BIKE RACK IN HIS HANDS. HE SAID THAT PHILLIP HAD ALREADY PAID HIM FOR IT, AND IT WAS OURS NOW!
AND YES...IT HELD JUST 3 BIKES!!

Here recently, Our family has been REALLY PRAYING about 2 HUGE SPECIAL UNSPOKEN REQUEST...and when God gave us the bike rack (for about $7.50) WITHOUT ME EVEN PRAYING ABOUT IT...I told our girls that if He cared about a bike rack...then HE CARES about our unspoken requests! God has already answered one of those request and for that we PRAISE HIM! Isn't God Awesome?!!!
