~Daddy's 79th birthday, Valentine's, Speaking at the Spanish Banquet~

On Feb. 11th, my Dear Daddy turned 79!!  We got to go over and go out for Pizza with Daddy and Moma and Scott and Brittany...to celebrate Daddy!!

It was so fun to have Chris with us!  We got to take him to see Gramp and Gram's house (my Daddy and Moma's house) and to see Grandpa and Grandma at their house.

Some years back our mission director Mark Becker told us that our aging parents are now a part of our ministry.  So true.

We love being with them and helping them in any way we can, while we are with them.

~My Daddy turns 79!!!~

~I made Chocolate cupcakes with coffee icing to help Daddy Celebrate!!

~Pizza together at Pizza 3.14 in Indiana.
So fun to have Chris and Scott and Brittany join us. ~

~The kids dressed up like Cowgirls.~
~One Sunday, We had a lovely Sunday dinner with Pastor and Grammy.
In the afternoon Josh and Sarah were driving to Cinci, so got to stop by for a few minutes.
It was so fun to be together.~
~For days leading up to Valentine's Day, I did some special things for my Phillip.
A couple things I did were:
I wrote him a special note telling him 20 Things I love about him!
And I made him his Favorite Dessert.
CUSTARD!!
I didn't do so hot with the browned sugar on top, but Phillip LOVED the desesert!
~Valentine's Day~
Chris and Kimberly took a fun picnic for Brunch that day!

~While they were gone on their little Brunch Picnic, Abigail helped me set a fun table at home and get ready
for our Valentine's Day dinner as a family, after they came back.~
~And then we covered strawberries with chocolate to put in our little heart dishes.~

~We set the table with a white floral arrangement, but then Kimberly came home with these beautiful flowers from Chris, so we added those to our table.~
~My Sweetheart and I!!!~
~Mary drew these little notes and made a little path of them for all of us.~

~Phillip and I were asked to speak and sing at the Valentine's Banquet
for the Spanish Church at Shelbyville, IN.
We spoke on I Corinthians 13 and how it applies to marriage.  The devil fights all marriages, but maybe especially Christian marriages.
How we Thank the Lord for His help as we spoke and Sang at The Spanish Valentine's Banquet.
AND FOR GOD GIVING US TRAVELING MERCIES OVER THERE!
Phillip was needing to do some last minute transferring of his Speaking notes, and so I was driving.
I was driving Kimberly's little car, which I am not used to driving, and there was a blind spot.
As I went to change lanes on the Interstate, I changed lanes and NEVER saw this mini van RIGHT behind me.
Praise Jesus he didn't rear end us.  SCARY!!!!~
~Brenda did a great job decorating the tables.~
~The food was Delicious!!~

~Bro. and Sis. Smith and Brenda and Ben playing the shoe game.~
~We so enjoyed the dessert and coffee.~

Last Sunday, I looked up to check on Abigail during our pre-service prayer meeting,
then I snapped this pic of Abigail,
praying...with her dolly "watching."
~Phillip preached at our Christian Nation Church last Sunday.~
~Elijah and Mary made this fun wreath out of vines from a tree in our woods.~
~I was so surprised when my friend Cherita showed up at our church last Sunday!
It was so fun to catch up!~
~Our Creek in front of our house has flooded twice recently.~

~For Christmas Dear Noah gave me a gift card to Hobby Lobby!!
So, last Tuesday I had fun shopping when I took the kids to music lessons in Cinci.~
~One of the things I got with my gift card from Noah, was this Love Sign.
I was happy to find this sign for 75% off, so I got it for $5.00. ~
~3 of our kids and Phillip were under the weather for days last week. :-( ~
~GLOBAL HOLINESS MISSIONARY CONVENTION!~
Last Week was our Global Holiness Missions Missionary Convention with Bro. Steve Hight.
Though there was a lot of sickness in our house, and we all could not attend at the same time, when we did get to be in the services they were so good and challenging!!!
~Bro. Becker introducing Bro. Hight!~
~Phillip visiting with Kerron Simmonds, Rob and Sean.~
~The Flings and some of us got to go out after service Friday night.~

~Bro. Hight, Phillip, and Bro. Becker.~
~On Saturday we had an International Dinner.  We brought Fried Platano~
~Gallo Pinto (Painted Rooster) From Costa Rica.~

~And I also made Tres Leches (3 Milk) Cake.
I got the recipe when I was in Costa Rica studying Spanish.~

WE NEED TO PRAY FOR ALL THOSE SUFFERING IN UKRAINE!!

MAY GOD HAVE MERCY ON OUR WHOLE WOLRD!!!

Brent told me about Fried Platano after he was in Guatemala in October. I bought one and fixed it for us. He and Joy were not impressed; I LOVED it. When we were back there in January, I got to eat it again and was still very impressed. I don't know that I'll get it for myself here in SD as the sugar content is very high, but it is sure a delicious treat.

Hey, Nicki, YES!! We love it! Of course we were served it a lot in Costa Rica and Colombia, so it brings back a ton of memories. In Colombia they were fry it green as well and salt them. But, I prefer the more ripe ones. Yummy! I'm sure you are right, they probably are not the best for you, but fun to eat occasionally. Great hearing from you! Hope all is well y'all's way!!
